Would you like to get more traffic to your site and have that traffic be people that are interested in your services and products? You can do it and see good results and increased sales soon.
When people go on the Web, they’re usually searching for something. That’s what is so great about the Web – there is so much out there and you can find the answer to just about anything by firing up your web browser and doing an online search. So what you need to do is get people to your website and to make that happen, your website needs to rank well in the search engine results.
Get Search Engine Optimization Done
Before you even get started marketing your website, you want to be sure that it is set up correctly. You will want to make sure you perform SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization tasks to your website. Either you can do this or you can hire someone. This work includes things like getting the right keyword list made, putting keywords in page titles, tuning your meta tags, doing internal linking, having search engine friendly URLs and so on. For the purposes of this article, we are going to assume you have had this work done. If not, do it first before you start promoting your website and you will be doing yourself a big favor.
When doing SEO, the goal is to rank better. Ranking better in search engine results is like an election. The more votes you get, the better you do. When other websites link to your website, that is like a vote! When you get more votes than your competition, your site moves above theirs. You want to make sure you are using links that contain keywords – versus links that say “click here” which is the wrong way to make links. Getting links from websites that are related to your website is best, but really, a link is a link and all links help you.
How Do You Get Incoming Links?
Getting inbound links to your website can be done in a few ways. The best way is when people just naturally like your website and want to link to it. You do this by providing content that is link worthy. You can also encourage people to bookmark your company website on social bookmarking sites like Delicious.com. Be sure to ask friends and any business associates or vendors to link to your website. And you can always search around for related sites and propose link exchanges. Actually, you may be getting these requests already from other websites – this is why. These link exchanges are really worth doing, so let’s help each other out and do as many as we can. Don’t ignore those requests.
Another great way to get links is by doing article marketing. Article marketing is basically what you’re reading right now. I’ve written a useful article that’s original and unique, It’s chock full of useful information that helps people and it answers a question that they might be asking. I then submit that article to article directories and I get to include what’s called a resource box at the end of the article that links back to my website.
The thing about submitting articles is that your articles need to be totally original. You can’t just paste the same article on multiple websites – that doesn’t help you much at all. To do that you might think that re-writing and submitting the article over and over would take a lot of work and you would be right. It would be. Who has time for that? There is a tool that makes it much easier, the Unique Article Wizard.
What the Unique Article Wizard does is automatically submit your article to many article websites (most rank pretty well and Google knows about them) and also creates original and unique versions of each article for you. I’ve used it many times and I’ve seen traffic and Google’s PageRank go up on those sites – and that’s the idea, right?
I won’t lie to you. It does take quite a bit of time to write and submit an article but compared to how much time it would have taken to do the same amount of work is incomparable. If you are not into writing, then you can still get this done for you but you will have to hire a writer to do this for you. Some good help can be found on sites like Elance.com or even use friends or college students to do the writing. One thing I remember when I write is the AIDA method:
* Attention
* Interest
* Desire
* Action
That is what your articles should do. They should grab people’s attention with a great headline, then get their interest within the first few sentences, then create desire and then present call to action. What also works well are “how to” articles because, again, that’s what people are doing on the Web – they’re searching for how to do things many times.
After doing that, you will go through the wizard and adjust different versions of each paragraph. It will then submit the article for you to all the article sites that want one in that category. I have it submit 50 of mine per day to about 500 or more sites. Nice!
Within 6-8 days, you’ll start to see web visitors increase and then search engines will see more websites linking to (or voting for) your site, which moves you up in the results. If you did just 1 article per week for a month or so, you’d see vast improvements in your rankings. Just take your time and write up good information that makes you look like an expert in your field and people will look to you for more information.
