Personal Development-Change Is About Self Awareness And For Those Who Desire It!

February 28, 2010 in Self Help and Motivational by article_directory

Personal growth or personal development means many different things to each of us. We are all different individuals and it takes a wise person to see they might have flaws and need to growth or change in some of their actions. Personal growth is about us and our presumptions of us. The most important aspect of personal growth is how you feel about yourself. Do you see yourself relating to others, be it family, friends or co-workers appropriately? Are you living your life totally, completely and in line with how you think you should? Are you happy with how you deal with life or do you see yourself needing to change some things? Life Changes does not indicate we are necessarily bad. It does not mean that we are debilitated in our life or living an inappropriate life but that we want to live a more durable life.

Another individual cannot tell you that you are in need of Personal Growth. It is a conscious decision that one makes for ones self. Opposition is part of deciding if this is where we need to go. Sometimes we see the need to grow when life has thrown us a shock and we can’t get back on track, we need to learn something about whom we are and why we are reacting the way we are. Sometimes it is about success in our life; success we do not think that we have. We are not where we want to be and we need help to remove the obstacles that seem to be standing in the way.

I have seen very self centered people who seemed to think they know all the right ways and it is their way or no way. It seems that the people who need personal growth the most are carrying around baggage and do not even realize it. They are muddles , intolerant and suspicious of others or they would not be trying to prove they know it all. No one knows it all, not today, not yesterday nor will they tomorrow. It does not matter how intelligent one is; it is how they relate themselves to other people. They think everyone else is lacking and they feel all of their expertise is being wasted. When in all actuality; their expertise is not visible due to their attitude.

To see the need for personal growth means you are seeking either betterment or possibly purification from something or someone. Maybe it is only that you need to change the way you perceive something that has changed you life. Arousing your self awareness can’t be all bad. It actually means you have depth of wanting to beautify your soul. You could be doing everything magnificently and everybody is happy, including yourself, but in reality; probably not. I am afraid that not many of us are happy all the time. Life isn’t all wine and roses and happiness is a mind set and begins within us like everything else….how many time have I said all of this begins within us?

If we are happy the way we are it means we have mastered something very important. When we get to this state in our life and we feel a sense of accomplishment; it bring contentment and a feeling of being at peace with ourselves and others.

How Does Success And Personal Development Unite Together

February 10, 2010 in Self Help and Motivational by article_directory

Is Success within reach without Personal Growth? I do not think that it is and that is my perception. I do not remember reading anything that has said this in so many words but yet what I have read and concluded is that most successful people have somewhere had to look from within their own backyard to find the tools to ignite their own success. Having observed many successful individuals, those that are the most successful seem to have found a certain medium and level of inner peace and strength about themselves. They do not copy anyone’s persona, purpose or actions; they became their own person without any apologies. They seemed to know the path they should take and did not allow other people’s opinion to push them in a different direction. If we are to have our Personal Growth be successful we must be who we are not someone else.

As we study about Personal Growth and Success; we find professional information which indicates that Success is not something we actually attain and we’re done. Success is defined as a journey, something we work on daily, with zest and enthusiasm. That is, if we are sincere about and into what we are trying to accomplish. Personal Growth I believe has to start and as we grow in certain areas of our life; it helps us as we travel on our journey toward Success. It would be wonderful if we were all born perfect, not just physically but also mentally. That’s a joke, right? Not many of us are genius…but some are so intelligent that they hold back thinking someone is going to call them a nerd…you know, too smart and doesn’t have any fun and I have read that. These intelligent individuals must work toward their self confidence and not care exactly what other people think. Why does it matter, what others think? If you are blessed, share it, let others know you have something to give, do not be ashamed of a “talent”, a “blessing”. It is just as important to use your intelligence as it is for those who are challenged to work to be less challenged. If one who is not challenged helps someone who is; they both benefit. Of course it must be accepted help. Some of us are challenged for one reason or another and it makes us have to work harder but I am a firm believer that we all have the same potential on some levels; we have to find what is right for us and how we do it best.

I read something recently that actually clarifies that most of the time we do not use our full brain power. We are in the habit of doing certain things everyday and we do it without thinking and in fact we are in such a habit that we are not adequately living our life; we are stuck in the unconscious. Seems kind of like a wakeup call is needed and I can relate to this message. I believe to be successful and work toward our personal growth goalswe need to be in the now; pure consciousness and relate to what we do every minute of our lives. We do not want something wonderful to pass us by. How can we start on our path of success if we are not conscious of what we are doing most of the time? We can’t, so our first step is becoming conscious of what we are doing, become aware of our daily activities. Are we spending too much time day dreaming and never putting our dreams to work? Are we going around with this hum drum; poor me way of thinking instead of looking within our self to see if we are lacking the courage to begin? Are we afraid of failure? Probably and …mistakes and doing it wrong the first time, is how we learn and grow and become better, personally and professionally. If we never failed or made mistakes…whichever you want to call it…we would not grown and learn. Personal growth is just as much a part of Success as consuming food is to our living.

Growing personally will take us where we want to go and help us achieve what we need to accomplish our goals.

Behind Defeat And Delusion

February 8, 2010 in Self Help and Motivational by article_directory

This is a issue we do not like to talk about and appropriately so, especially if it is ours. This is quite normal I think, and talking about it does not change it. Taking actions to overcome the dead emotions which failure sometimes brings must be dealt with for us to recover and get back on the road to success “after failure”.

Everybody makes errors and fails at sometimes in their life. If they tell you they have never had “failure”, they are telling a big one, I think. It is a common aspect of life and it isn’t going to change. It does not have to be anything big or destructive to living a good life, but if we are human, we can look back and see some places, we could have done a whole lot better.

Sometimes we goof up because we gave up on something before we gave it time to work. We fail sometimes because we look at others and what they have done, not realizing that we cannot compare our own life’s work to anybody; we must strive for our own way of achieving life things. Anything we do in life must have a plan, a starting point, a progression period and then the final results. Finding ourselvesis something that we all need at some point in our life. Sometimes we must change our path during our progress and that is why we do an assessment every now and then. Take for instance a marriage. When we get married, we have a plan to work at it, make it beautiful, and feed it with passion and know it takes some give and take. Yet so many times we forget ,we get busy with other life things and forget to feed it, we forget it needs care, sometimes more later, than sooner. What do you know; somebody is unhappy out the blue. Sometimes it is too late, sometimes it can be fixed and sometimes it seems too much disregard was the final draw and we have to deal with what we call “failure”

Someone who is and doesn’t want to work for what they get…could be called a failure. Life is not going to just supply any of us anything. It doesn’t work that way. We must work for our breadas nothing is free. An addiction is another aspect we can call failure; it doesn’t have to be drugs or alcohol. It can be spending too much money; it can be spending too much time on the job. It can be taking too much time off the job, you know; sick days; too many of them; all of a sudden, no job. It can be giving someone else a hard time and not having respect for our fellow man. Whatever it is named; if it is done often can be called failure…we can overcome it and “live again” if we take notice to our needs. In our Seeking tolerance we need to look at all aspects of our situation and not get too down on ourselves.

How do we begin to get our life on tract after failure? When it happens we have to really analyze if it is truly “failure”. Sometimes mistakes get named failure. If we keep doing something over and over and it winds up costing us great consequences it is likely failure and not just a mistake. A mistake is something you did unintentionally and you normally do not do it again. We learn from our mistakes and take them as part of life to help us grow. If we repeatedly do something it is time for us to get a professional to help us find out why we are duplicating the same things over and over before it cost us too much.

To me and I am not giving you professional therapy, you must seek that yourself, but I am giving you hope that there is help and I have seen healing for our failures through personal development if we want it. To me, failure is where one has repeatedly doing something that they knew was causing themselves harm or someone else and they do it anyway. There is still a way to start over . There is always hope until we die and we can be healed of our failures and become new again. There are Therapist, Counselors and Psychologists who are trained to help us in our endeavors as well a Personal Growth experts. I am not either but I do love to see recovery and study self improvement and I work on myself everyday….I’m not perfect …doubt I will ever be but at least I am working on me!

Bonnie Bruderer’s Vision Board Parties Shed New Light

December 26, 2009 in Business by Blake Bradshaw

If you’re looking to “party on,” there’s a new type party in town that you may want to try. It’s the Vision Board Party, which was developed by motivational coach Bonnie Bruderer. Over the years, there have been many successful home-based enterprises that have used the party concept to bring new customers on board and generate more sales.

Just about everyone has heard of and many have attended parties for Tupperware, Avon, and Pampered Chef. Such gatherings have defined brands, spreading the word about their wares and services. Bonnie Bruderer has taken the basic party idea and incorporated it into the Vision Board process.

Often associated with the Law of Attraction that offers the belief that those who use and surround themselves by positive thoughts will produce and attract similar energies that will affect positive outcomes, the Vision Board is a tool that many believe can aid people in creating lives filled with achievement.

The Vision Board, which works on the same principle, is often built on poster board. Individuals attach pictures to the board and phrases that reveal their hopes, dreams, wants and desires. This positive visual statement can help engender affirmative energy, which then aids in the development of positive outcomes for the person who made it.

Bonnie Bruderer has expanded her Vision Board Parties to include a training segment where those who want to book and run their own parties can do so. In doing this, Bruderer, who developed the life coaching enterprise known as The One Coaching, presents financial opportunities to those who want to sell Vision Board Parties.

Once trained, individuals are able to start home-based businesses focusing on booking and facilitating Vision Board Parties. Along with setting up the parties, the person also runs the event, taking participants through the Vision Board process, which includes goal setting exercises and the creation of a soul statement.

With a rocky economy, a group event that offers a huge chunk of positive energy can be a welcomed experience. That is exactly what a Vision Board Party is. In these times of stress, coach Bonnie Bruderer has focused on an idea that can make people believe in their dreams again.

Vision Boards can be a powerful, mindset shifting program for your personal and business way of life. Vision Board Parties can help accelerate the personal growth process so you get what you want out of way of life quickly.

Self Help Is Best For Overcoming Shyness

December 13, 2009 in Relationships by John Laney

If you are a very shy person, the thought of talking to strangers may make you extremely nervous. There is an instant uneasiness if you think about talking to new people. Extreme amount of shyness can cause social inhibitions which lead to disruption of normal social interaction with people. This problem is called social anxiety and it affects millions of people at some point in their life. Cognitive behavioral treatment is one of the best therapies for curing this disorder.

Earlier on, scientists used to attribute the family environment to the emotional growth and development of a child. Now it appears that nature has programmed people’s personality towards being shy. This disorder is overcome by many people, while at the same time, a number of them actually live with it till their old age. Today’s generation lives in a world which needs less social contact and therefore this contributes to the underdeveloped social conditioning of some people. Internet and its related aspects like email interaction and computer based games, lead to risk of people becoming less social. If you happen to suffer from this disorder, there are a number of things you can do to overcome it.

First and foremost, identify what triggers shyness. Every situation does not lead to shyness in all the people. What time do you feel anxious? Ask yourself the question about when do you feel shy. Do you have negative thoughts and predictions automatically? Before you start believing that the negative assumption you are making is fact, try and challenge your thought process.

As a shy person, start thinking that the thought in your mind is only a guess. Do not focus too much on thoughts that confirm your anxiety. Start shifting your thoughts to something which disapproves it. One cannot please everyone at the same time.

Face the situation bravely and put yourself in the front seat. Exposure can serve as a treatment because intentionally you put yourself in uncomfortable situations, which can be overcome. One of the best ways possible is to keep facing your fears again and again so that they become irrelevant and fade away. Start attracting what you fear the most and this way you will feel that it is not a big deal anyways. Nevertheless, you will face issues in the beginning, it is important that you start doing it the soonest possible. Never delay this as it also elongates your suffering.

Shyness is not associated with any psychological disorder, but is considered to be a personality trait. The degree of shyness varies from person to person. Some people feel very anxious when they face an audience, while there are some who want to lead an extremely solitary life. This is not the right way to live life. Some people treat shyness like a cocoon. It gives them safety, warmth and quietude. At the same time, it can turn out to be desolate, confined and dark.

It is a good idea to get help from family and friends. During difficult times, they will provide you with pointers and support. It becomes quite easy and comforting, when you know that you have someone who will support you during difficult period. Soon you will realize that your fears are getting overcome. By the time you attain a social life, you will realize that how easy it is to be there and met people.

You can do multiple things to overcome shyness. Start taking one step at a time which can turn out to be a good beginning to ensure that shyness disappears. There is much more to resolve this disorder but with these pointers, one can make a good beginning.

Finding Your One Thing – Why The Personal Development Industry Is Exploding

December 8, 2009 in Health and Fitness by Steve Sheeren

Personal development. Self-development. Self-help. Personal growth. Whichever term you choose to use, we as people have historically looked for different means and ways to finding a more fulfilling life. Figuring out our purpose in life, or why we are here, has been a central question throughout human history and shows no sign of slowing. Recent history suggests that our appetite for finding our “one thing” is growing at a rapid rate. According to one source, in the United States alone, people have invested an estimated

* 5 BILLION dollars in the year 2000 * 9.5 BILLION dollars in the year 2005 and will invest an estimated * 13 BILLION dollars in the year 2010

This market has almost tripled in size over the last decade. One can see that our desire for being more and finding our one thing is growing at a phenomenal rate. So why now? What has driven people since the beginning of time to search for greater meaning in their life and why has this search exploded in the last few years? Part of the answer to the last question may be in this short clip from the 1991 movie “City Slickers”, starring Jack Palance and Billy Crystal. ( Note: PG-13 language coming your way! )

Finding Your One Thing

“Curly” the crusty cowboy dispenses some great advice. He says the secret to life is finding your one thing. Stick to that and everything else don’t mean s*#%! Billy Crystal of course asks what that one thing is. Curly responds by telling him “that’s what YOU have to figure out”. While that is wonderful advice, it seemingly is getting harder and harder to do considering all of the information that comes at us each day. We are constantly bombarded with messages, advertisments, data, emails, commercials, etc. According to a study done by Pew Research, nearly 2/3 of all adults in the U.S. have broadband internet access at home. The Nielson Company research indicates that there is a TV in almost 99% of homes in the U.S. If that isn’t enough information to digest, we can easily jump on an airplane and fly to nearly every corner of the world to experience a different language, culture or environment. A half-century ago, thirty years ago, even 15 years ago we just did not have the enormous amount of sensory input that we get today. Just getting through the day without experience information overload can be a huge challenge, much less finding our one thing! For so many people, its the attempt to filter through all of the messages around them to discover their “one thing” that led them to explore personal development.

So how DO you find your “one thing”? If we were all identical and operated the same way, then there would be one neat and clean process. However, like snowflakes, no two humans are exactly alike. There are many different processes, paths, methods and means to finding your one thing. Which one is right for you? Here is a simple tool you can use to provide you some insight and direction in finding your one thing. By reflecting back on your beginning in life, you will be able to tighten the focus on what is truly important to you and filter out much of the informational “noise” surrounding you. The critical point is to take the first step on your quest. Use the tool above, ask a friend or colleague for a recommendation or visit the personal development section of your local bookstore, but take action. If you need a little kick in the pants to get going, just remember Curly’s words……” once you find that one thing, everything else don’t mean s*$%!

Steve Sheeren has spent the last 15 years mentoring and encouraging individuals and corporations across North America to improve their mindset and skillset. He offers additional information, articles and resources on finding your one thing, including an alternative to working for a corporation.

How To Meditate For Beginners In A Proper Way

November 27, 2009 in Meditation by Trevor Johnson

Doing meditation in the right way provides numerous benefits. How to meditate for beginners through proper approach? This question requires a bit of explanation. It is important to follow rules to be successful in the meditation process. The body will have a great relaxing feeling. The complete body relaxing meditation can be done through simple steps. Once the beginners complete the process of meditation, they have a feeling of satisfaction and constructive approach towards the surrounding environment. It also brings a feeling of joy and satisfaction to the person completing the meditation process.

The first rule talks about selecting the meditation spot. This should be free from distractions, offer privacy, and have an isolated feel to it. This will help complete the steps of meditation without getting disturbed.

Rule number two is to focus on your body parts and try to relax them. This should start with the feet and then spread to other parts of the body. Once the body is relaxed, start with pranayam, the slow breathing exercise. This meditation technique will provide spiritual power and enhance the body forces for your well-being.

The third rule is to complete pratyahara, something that enables you to take your senses away from the distractions of the outside world. The beginner should be an observer of the thoughts and actions of his mind and soul in a neutral way. The thoughts should be allowed to flow in a normal manner and the person needs to be aware of them.

Rule number four is related to the benefits of doing meditation on a daily basis. The beginners should follow a meditation routine. There should be an attempt to do meditation twice a day. Certain meditation related objects or candle should be used for concentration enhancement. This object should be located 30 cm away from the place where you are meditating. You should gaze at the object, and then relax. This will ultimately help in concentration improvement.

Discover more on how to meditate for beginners and check out this simple meditation method.
