Why All Terrain Boarding Is The Best

November 12, 2009 in Exercise by Baxter Wells

All terrain boarding is quite possibly the most fun extreme sport known to man, (in my opinion at least). If you haven’t even heard of it, today is your lucky day. This article will tell you 6 reasons why all terrain boarding (also called mountainboarding and dirtboarding) is awesome.

For anyone that loves the great outdoors, this extreme sport may be right up your alley. You can ride inside at a skatepark if you ever wanted to, but where this sport really shines is in nature where there is dirt and grass. With an all terrain board in hand, you have a great reason to get outdoors and feel one with nature.

Not getting exercise while all terrain boarding is impossible. It requires balance, which will activate your core muscles and exercise them. You’ll have to walk up hills, trails, or roads with your board, which is a lot of exercise, and lastly, your heart will get a nice exercise from the adrenaline boost you’ll get from riding.

If you want more adrenaline in your life, bombing down hills while feeling the wind and seeing the ground rushing under your feet will definitely give you a boost. Your heart will be racing and you’ll be ready to go down again once you reach the bottom.

There is always a new challenge around the next corner. This sport is challenging, but at the same time it can be as hard as you want it to be. If you just want to have fun and not do anything too serious, you can take it easy and ride easier terrain. On the other hand, there is always a bigger and more challenging run or trick that you can try.

This sport is one with tons of different possibilities in riding locations and terrain. You don’t have to stick to only paved surfaces like longboarders and skateboarders do. You can try all sorts of different terrains and ride at tons of different locations. Grass hills, dirt trails, dirt roads, BMX tracks, Mountain biking trails, boardercross trails, dirtboarding centers, skateparks, and more.

Whenever I’m feeling uptight or like I can’t take it anymore, a nice dirtboarding session helps a ton. It is a wonderful stress reliever or mood enhancer if I’m feeling down. I always come back feeling much better than before and the outdoor air always helps.

There you have it, six reasons why mountainboarding is a great sport or hobby to take up. It gets you outside enjoying the fresh air, gives you exercise, is thrilling, as challenging as you want it to be, gives you lots of options so it never gets boring, and is helpful for relieving stress.

Dirtboarding – Why You Should Try Dirtboarding ASAP

November 4, 2009 in Outdoors by Baxter Wells

I love dirtboarding and I think you might too. Here I am going to tell you just a few reasons why you should try this exciting sport. I could go on for much longer with other reasons, but this article would be far too long, so here’s what I think are the best reasons why you should go dirtboarding (also referred to as all terrain skateboarding or dirtboarding).

Do you feel like your life is boring and void of excitement? Dirtboarding may be your ticket to a daily, weekly or monthly show filled with adrenaline and thrill. This extreme sport is exactly the kind of sport that it says it is, “extreme.”

Lots of us could use more exercise in our lives. Things like T.V., video games, computers, Internet, and jobs or school that keep us locked up all day cause us to burn much less calories than we need to. Taking up mountain boarding can give you an extra dose of much needed exercise in your life.

Love the outdoors? Like to explore and hike out in nature? If you do, that’s great, because this extreme sport gets you outside so you can enjoy the fresh air, explore for new riding spots, hike up trails, hills, and ride down them.

Mountain boarding is challenging, that’s for sure. Many of us enjoy a good challenge, and like to push ourselves, always trying to conquer the next biggest hill, a more complex trick, or win the next boardercross race (mountain boarding races are called boardercross).

I always feel better after an outing of all terrain skateboarding. It doesn’t matter if I fell and got a couple of bumps and bruises, the enjoyment I receive from it makes it all worthwhile to go again next weekend.

That completes my best reasons for why you should get out there and give dirtboarding a try. However, you’ll never know what dirtboarding is truly like unless you try it for yourself, so get out there and try it!

Snowboarders – Keep On Riding In The Off Season

October 30, 2009 in Hobbies by Fredrick Baxter

Snowboarding is lots of fun. You get to carve down slopes, shred the snow, and ride the lifts back up again and again. Many snowboarders love winter and look forward to it in the off season.

Many snowboarders during the off season set their board and gear aside for it to collect dust until the snow comes again. They let their skills get rusty as they wait for winter.

To keep your sharp skills from getting dull in the off season there is a cool sport called mountainboarding that you can try. It can help you stay sharp in the off season and even work on improving yourself so when winter rolls around you can be even better than when you were when winter ended.

A mountainboard is a beefier version of a mountainboard and has large wheels that allow it to easily roll over small sticks, rocks, and rough terrain. It can be used on dirt, grass, packed sand, gravel, and paved surfaces.

A mountainboard most often will have foot straps. The foot straps on it are usually one of two kinds. Either it will be the kind where you can just step into and out of easily, or it will be the kind like a snowboard, where you have to ratchet and lock your feet in.

No longer will you have to stick it through spring, summer, and fall without hitting the slopes. With this all terrain sport you can continue to ride the hills long after the snow has left. You can keep on having fun in the off season.

If you are a tricks kind of snowboarder, you probably spent winter perfecting a few more tricks. After the off season you probably came back and found that you were a little rusty with your new tricks. To fill that gap and help you stay sharp, mountainboarding offers you a chance to keep on perfecting your tricks, or even learn new ones.

The bottom line is that a mountainboard can be an excellent tool for learning new tricks, and staying sharp in the off season. A mountainboard can be taken off of jumps, used on rails, and you can pull off all sorts of freestyle tricks and practice new ones. Dirt and grass aren’t the same as snow, but at least this way you get to have fun in the spring, summer, and fall months doing something other than getting rusty.

I recommend to snowboarders that want a way that will help them get better during the off season to try out mountianboarding. It is a great way to keep on riding the slopes after the snow has melted.

Why You Should Mountain Board In Your Free Time

October 28, 2009 in Hobbies by Fredrick Baxter

Often, instead of making use of our free time, many of us sit in front of the T.V., watch a movie, play video games, surf the Internet, or do absolutely nothing. Instead of continuing this tradition, why don’t you fill in that poorly spent free time with a new recreational activity? This article will tell you why you should ride an off road skateboard (aka mountain board or dirt board) in your free time.

Exercise doesn’t have to be boring. If you have avoided doing any exercise, like going to your gym because you think it’s boring, why not do something like ride a dirt board? That way, you will have fun and get exercise without noticing! Riding a dirt board will help strengthen your core muscles because it requires balance. It also will give you a nice workout when you walk up hills to ride down.

With all the time many of us spend inside at a job or going to classes, having an off road skateboard is a great way to get you outdoors enjoying the nice weather.

Are you lacking thrill in your life? Instead of popping in an action movie or firing up a video game, why not experience it in real life? Going down a hill on an off road skateboard is very thrilling. Seeing the ground zoom by you, and feeling the wind flying by you is a thrilling experience that you can enjoy over and over again.

Dirt trails, grass hills, roads, and anywhere with a slope you can ride down. With so many options and types of terrains you can ride on, you never run out of riding locations.

If you like to push yourself, there is always something more difficult to do in this sport. There’s always a bigger hill, or more challenging trick to try.

If you need an activity to take part in that is not only fun, but will give you the opportunity to go outside, recharge, and then come back feeling refreshed, this sport is great for that. It is an awesome stress reliever.

Riding a mountain board is great exercise, you get to be outside when you do it, it’s a great rush, there are lots of places to ride, it’s challenging, and it is good for relieving stress. If you haven’t tried it, I recommend that you do!
