Stories About The Family Could Make A Great Book

It’s that time of the year when spring is but a few weeks away and for most of us that can only mean one thing – time to tidy up.

A few days ago the sun was shining and lovely as it was, unfortunately this made our house show up all the layers of dust that had accumulated over the winter months. Because of this I decided that in my house spring had arrived early and it was definitely time to start the cleaning.

It all started off well and I had really good intentions of cleaning from top to toe. The kitchen was first on the list and that took longer than anticipated, so already I was flagging. However I ploughed on and next on the list of rooms to tidy up was our Utility room. This is one of the rooms where in our house we seem to shove everything and then just shut the door on it all. I hadn’t been working long when I stumbled across a load of Cheap Books that my mum had given to me. This sent me off on a trip down memory lane and my clearing out came to a standstill.

My mum was a real book addict and she was always happiest when she had a cup of tea in one hand and a book in the other. She didn’t really mind what she read it could be anything ranging from Fiction Books, romance books and she even owned a few Cook Books. I’m not sure why she had the cook books, because she never really seemed to be adventurous with her cooking. Perhaps she just enjoyed looking at all the pictures!

It’s funny because I suddenly remembered a holiday we had all gone on together to Lanzarote. In my suitcase I had packed all the usual, towels, bikinis, sun tan lotion etc. I was flabbergasted because when mum unpacked her case it was full up with loads of books. Without a lie I think she had nearly a dozen with her. I thought this was really funny as we were only staying at the villa for 2 weeks. Mind you she had the last laugh as she enjoyed sunbathing around the pool reading her books and she got a fantastic suntan.

The spring cleaning didn’t really go the way I had planned, but then you know what it can be like sometimes when you get distracted and when cleaning is involved, I can’t say that I really mind.

Personally staying at home for a week would get pretty tedious, but people are doing it more and more. Why would anybody want a Staycation. After work you spend time at home and with loved ones, but why would you want to stay at home if you book holiday off work? The one advantage with having a holiday at home is the fact that it is easier for families, especially to just take your children to the beach. Don’t restrict yourself to a stay at home, make sure that you have an enjoyable time yourself.
