Are you a 3D movie fanatic? Does the idea of playing 3D video games excite you? Are you looking forward to switching from HDTV to 3D TV? If you say yes to all these, then it’s time you know more about 3D television technology.
3D technology was widely used since 1844. This actually started when an inventor named David Brewster invented the stereoscope, a device used to capture photographic images in 3D. After 11 years, a new device was invented called Kinematascope, which was used primarily to create 3D motion pictures.
Years had passed but the 3D technology never went out of the picture. And now 2010, Sky UK is making a big push towards 3D television. Last January 1, the very first 3D channel started broadcasting in South Korea. It showcases sporting events, documentaries, educational shows, animated shows, and more.
Okay, so what are the biggest names to release 3D television? Well, there’s Mitsubishi, Sony, LG, and Panasonic. Meanwhile in UK, the Samsung UE40C7000 is the first to be released. It actually works like an HD LED TV, only better since it upscale regular 2D pictures into 3D.
Many people are really curious about these 3D televisions, especially with the release of popular 3D films like Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, and Christmas Carol. They even wonder if 3D glasses should be used when watching from these 3D TVs. As of now, glasses are used but come 2011, LG and Philips will be introducing 3D TVs that don’t make use of glasses.
The 3D technology has really evolved through the years. And since it’s being used in televisions now, all the more people are excited to see what 3D television has in store for them. So stay tuned for more 3D televisions that will come out in 2010.
