See The Fenix TK40 LED Flashlight Review Before You Buy.
The Fenix tk40 is a super bright LED flashlight that puts out a huge beam of light.
Technology has advanced so much these days that the amazing amount of light that this thing can throw out is simply amazing. The Fenix TK40 is not to be confused with one of those cheap LED flashlights that you would pick up from a flea market.
This torch has the ability to throw a beam of light to 984 feet which is about 300 m. It has a very wide spill and the center of the beam is hot and bright. I can illuminate my whole backyard with this thing. There are four levels of power outputs on the torch. They are low, medium, high and turbo.
A very powerful torch so bright in fact, the very first day I had it I drove home in the dark with it on turbo mode shining it on the road. It was brighter than the work trucks high beam headlights, seriously I’m not joking.
Can you imagine having your cars hi-beam lights in your hand? What’s more it will stay on for a good solid two hours on turbo mode (630 lumens). But get this, on low it will burn for 150hrs straight. You know that’s like 6 days of run time, which is amazing.
Never in my life have I used a flashlight that was this darn bright and powerful. It only runs on those double AA batteries which are easy to pick up anywhere. So if you are out in the bush fishing or hunting you could grab a new set of batteries from the local shops or service station on the way out.
I like using rechargeable batteries because they are cheaper to use in the long run. I use Eneloop batteries because they have an excellent ability to hold onto a charge. You can fill them up and leave them in the cupboard and six months later they will still work.
I will be now keeping my maglight 3d flashlight in the cupboard as the Fenix TK40 is now my go to torch. It’s brighter, shorter, runs longer, lighter, has more cool features and is better balanced in the hand.
It has four other secondary modes of operation which are fast flash, slow flash, strobe and SOS flash. These functions are great to have for any night time activities where you might need to have a flashing beacon at night. And obviously the SOS flash would be a life saver.
