Get Search Engine Optimization Done
Having your website rank well is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization). There are some things that your website needs like good page titles, the right amount of keywords / key phrases in your copy, tuning your meta tags, search engine friendly URLs and have it all complimented by a pleasing design that’s professional and easy to navigate. Your domain names should contain your main keyword and it should also be at least a year or two old. For the purposes of this article, were going to assume that you’ve done all of that work.
So now it’s time to start ranking better since that is our goal. To do this, you want to get incoming links from other websites. These websites can be related to yours (which is ideal) but that is not necessary. If you have more than your competition, then that moves your website up in the rankings because it shows that your site is an authority on the topic. Search engines look at how many links (or votes) point to your website. If you have more than your competition, then that moves your website up in the rankings because it shows that your site is an authority on the topic. Make sure you link using keywords and not linked text that says “click here” because that is the wrong way to do it.
How Do You Get Incoming Links?
Getting inbound links to your company website can be done in a few ways. The best way is when people just naturally like your website and want to link to it. You do this by providing content that is link worthy. You can also encourage people to bookmark your company website on social bookmarking sites like Delicious.com. Be sure to ask friends and any business associates or vendors to link to your site. And you can always search around for related sites and propose link exchanges. Actually, you may be getting these requests already from other websites – this is why. These link exchanges are really worth doing, so let’s help each other out and do as many as we can. Don’t ignore those requests.
One powerful way to get incoming links to your website is with article marketing. This article that you are reading right now is article marketing. What you do is take some time and write up an article that’s full of good information. Your article should strive to answer a common question that people may have about a subject. You then will submit your unique article to article repositories. At the end of your article, don’t forget to include a resource box, which contains links back to your website.
An important item to note about article marketing is that for it to be of any good, each article that you post on different websites needs to be original and unique. What? Writing that many articles would take forever and would not be worth your time at all. That’s very true. So there’s a tool that will help you do that work and it’s called the Unique Article Wizard.
What the Unique Article Wizard does is automatically submit your article to many article directories (most rank pretty well and Google knows about them) and also creates original and unique versions of each article for you. I’ve used it many times and I’ve seen traffic and Google’s PageRank go up on those sites – and that’s the idea, right?
Writing an article using the Unique Article Wizard does take quite a bit of time. It’s true. But in comparison to how much time it would have taken you to rewrite your article, it’s really no time at all. If you have writer’s block, then don’t worry. You can hire people on sites like Elance.com to do the writing for you for a cheap price. When I sit down to do some writing, I try to remember AIDA, which means:
* Attraction
* Interest
* Desire
* Action
That is what your article needs to accomplish and do it in that order. It must get attention. If it doesn’t, then people will never read it and get to the next step, which is get their interest and then turn it into desire. You then end it with a call to action. One way to accomplish of all this is to write a “how to” type of piece. These grab attention nicely and lots of people type the words “how to” in a search engine when they use the Web to search.
After doing that, you will go through the wizard and write different versions of each paragraph. It will then submit the article for you to all the article directories that want one in that category. I have it submit 70 of mine per day to about 500-600 or more article sites. Nice!
Within 6-8 days, you’ll start to see web traffic increase and then search engines will see more websites linking to (or voting for) your site, which moves you up in the results. If you did just 1 article per week for a month or so, you’d see vast improvements in your rankings. Just take your time and write up good information that makes you look like an expert in your niche and people will look to you for more information.
