Building A Checklist For The Next Time You Go Camping.

Camping is such a great family vacation. If you are going to take children with you, it will give them some precious memories. Anyone who went camping as a kid can attest to that. It doesn’t matter what you actually do during the trip, or what the weather ends up being like, it is always a great adventure when you are a kid.

Remember to bring the essential things. You will need to bring a tent unless you are planning to stay in an RV or camper. You will want some kind of shelter for yourself and your family. Depending on where you are camping, there are a number of variables you might want decent shelter from.

Some of the essential tools of camping are flashlights, pillows, sleeping bags, batteries, a hatchet and chairs. If you are going to be camping in a tent, think about getting yourself an Aero inflatable portable bed inflatable air mattress. It will really improve your whole trip if you get a decent nights rest.

Think ahead so you have the necessary supplies for building a campfire. Bring old newspapers or thinner cardboard. Take matches and a lighter. I like to bring a camping saw and a hatchet. I also like to take my own wood. You might not be allowed to bring in your own firewood depending on where you are going camping. Some campgrounds have regulations about it.

You are going to need to consider how you are going to cook your meals. Think about packing a cooler for food, propane stove and tanks, silverware, plates, soap, a dish rag and a plastic tub for washing dishes. Not every campground has the facilities for campers to wash dishes. I usually buy paper and plastic dinner wares.

Put some thought into what kinds of clothing you will need for the camping trip. If you intend to go hiking, make sure you have some comfortable hiking boots. You certainly don’t need sore feet. Bring loose clothes and shorts if it will be warm. Bring some jeans if it is supposed to be cold. Your clothes may get soiled or ripped so you shouldn’t wear your best clothes. Don’t forget to pack a bathing suit, rain jacket, sweatshirt and a hat. These are must have items for any camping trip.

Remember to bring your personal bathroom products for you and your whole family. Pack all of the daily use items into a shaving kit. Make sure you bring bars of soap, shampoo, cue tips, deodorant, razors, and shaving cream. Don’t forget to bring contact lens supplies if someone wears them. Don’t forget to bring towels for everybody. If you’re going to be gone more than a couple days, you might want something to hang the towels on for drying purposes. Don’t forget to include any necessary medications.

Here are some other kinds of things that you might bring to make the camping trip even more enjoyable. How about bringing a pocket knife, some kind of lantern, horseshoes, cameras, bug spray, bottled water, mixed drinks, Aloe Vera lotion, band aids, sun tan oil, a radio, marshmallows and chocolate bars with graham crackers .

Bring activities for the little maniacs. You are going to have a lot more fun on your trip if the children have plenty of things to occupy their time. Anyways, half the reason you are going on this trip is for them to have a blast too. One guy that I know takes recordings of ghost stories to play around the campfire after dark. You could also take a softball, baseball, football, Frisbee or a kite. Bring anything that can be done safely outside. Make the most use of the wide open spaces in most campgrounds.

Why not make yourself a personalized camping checklist? There are going to be things that you consider essential that I haven’t listed. Make a complete list of your own, so you won’t forget anything. Some people can’t go anywhere without taking a cell phone, fishing gear or some other personal item.
