Three Questions About Venture Capitalists

August 17, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

When a venture capitalist invests in a company the issue of ownership never fails to arise.

That is the question posed by many entrepreneurs and it is also the main obstacle to the development of venture capital investments. Entrepreneurs consider the dilemma that arises because of the entry of another person to the partnership. In all cases though the venture capitalist remains a shareholder, it does not replace the manager.

The reason is the fact that most venture capitalists will invest in more than one company at a time. Being a manager of all of them is an impossible task. A venture capitalist will have some participation but its opinion is not heavier than that of the manager, though they have access to the company’s financial documents.

Owners may be insecure about the venture capitalist to go to another company.

A venture capitalist has many investments and will have participation in more than one company. It should not be a matter of concern. Even though some companies may look more promising than other, a venture capitalist prefers to hold profit from all of them rather than just the most profitable one.

An experienced venture capitalist will know that the profitability of its investments is not guaranteed and that he or she should cover all bases to be able to see better results.

There is also the possibility of a company going bankrupt or out of business. The responsibility of the venture capital is to sell the shares when the contract convenes it, risking losing some money. However, he or she may also choose to stay around and wait for the company to improve when its finances are failing.

How does the venture capitalist leave the company?

When the owner has enough funds, he or she can opt to buy the shares from the investor. There is a possibility that the prices of the shares have gone up beyond what the owner can afford.

In that case, the owner can choose from three scenarios: to sell the shares in the stock market, or to another venture capitalist, or to another company. The first option does not involve changes in the organization, though the last two do. If the new investors buy shares for more or equally to 50%, the power structure will change to its favor.

Tips To Buy Your New Computer Equipment

August 17, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

This article does not intent to drown you in a sea of technical terms that will confuse you more than enlighten you. It is not necessary to buy computer equipment that is extremely powerful and expensive if you use it only for emailing and writing. Here are some main components that you should learn before buying your computer equipment.

The processor. Intel and AMD are the world leaders in processors and the ones that you will find in most computers. The bigger the processor, the more complex applications it can handle. If you are looking for computer equipment for your business, you only need one with standard performance. There are processors with two or four cores.

RAM: it is what most people call the “memory” of the computer equipment. It is an important factor when it comes to the speed of your computer. To install Windows a minimum of 512 MB or 1 GB is recommended in order to retain some regular speed of usage. Windows Vista and some heavy applications may demand 2 GB of RAM or more. Whether for a PC or laptop, you can add RAM easily without the intervention of a technician.

The Hard Disk. This is another main element of any computer equipment. It is what determines how much information you will be able to store in your computer. Windows will require an average of 20 GB. Different versions have different requirements. If you will only use your PC for office work, 120 GB of space will be more than enough for you. Remember that you can always use external hard drives when you run out of space. External devices are easy to install and use. They are very useful to do data backups and copy information from one PC to another.

The CD or DVD recorder. DVD recorders now come standard in most computers and are generally affordable. When you buy your computer equipment make sure it plays all kinds of DVDs. There are DVD recorders that support multi layer recording. This technology requires the use of special DVDs that must also be multi layer.

Liability Insurance. An overview

August 17, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

Liability insurance is beneficial to the user in case that a car accident results in injuries or death to another person. In that case the insurance company would cover a percentage of the damages done to the person. The compensation for damages done to property is less significant. Liability insurance is compulsory and it gives more complete services than car insurance. Some of the services offered are: travel assistance, legal support and driver’s insurance.

The law in Spain dictates that all drivers must have liability insurance. This is required by law so that third parties involved in accidents are covered by the individual involved and not the estate or the individual itself. The existence of liability insurance reduces the chance that a person will claim bankruptcy and refuse to compensate the third party.

Unlike normal car insurance, liability insurance covers people who did not have anything to do with the accident: a passerby, another car, etc. Most of liability insurance will provide coverage to the car regardless of the person driving it. Meaning that the insurance will give coverage even when you let someone else use your car. The compensation given by the insurance company will be reduced if the driver is under 25 years old and has an expired driver’s license.

Features: Liability insurance is mandatory is Spain and without it you cannot drive. In case of an accident, the compensation guarantees are limited and established by law.

The biggest benefit of this kind of insurance is that you have the peace of mind that if you were in an accident and another person was injured, it is the insurance company and not you who pays for the damage.

Nevertheless, liability insurance does not cover what happens to the car of the insured in the accident.

Should I buy liability insurance only? People who have a spotless driving history and are certain that they will not cause an accident may choose to buy liability insurance without car insurance. For a car to be covered against accidents, the user needs to buy additional car insurance.

Liability insurance will not give coverage if the insured was involved in an accident while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or if the car was stolen.

The Importance Of Capital Financing

August 17, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

Banks and other financial institutions have been able to control other institutions that handle the finances of other businesses. Nevertheless, in the last five years the existence of these institutions has increased as well as the availability of capital financing options that were inexistent before.

One is the availability of capital financing through non-traditional sources of credit and the massive expansion of the sub-prime lending market since the early nineties.

If you are looking for capital financing you need to look for a good finance broker. A broker will point you to a variety of options available in the market so that you find the financing structures that match your needs.

A broker is one key ingredient but not the only one necessary for the proper functioning of a business. Five elements need to be working effectively so that your business grows: staff, equipment, facilities, products and services, and cash flow. Cash flow is what keeps your business alive and running and without it everything falls to the cracks. Capital financing is often needed in order to have the right amount of cash flow.

Let us say that you are thinking about acquiring a new vehicle for your business. The first thing you will do is manage a way to get a lease or financial solution. If what you are looking for is a building or financing for expansion, you will resort to other commercial mortgages or loans. Capital financing is requested in response to the specific needs of your business.

The search for capital financing is a part of the development of a business. One thing that never changes is the need for capital. You need capital when your business is facing a crisis or when it is expanding to new horizons. You never know when the current economic context will shift and you will find yourself in the need of more capital financing for your staff, equipment, etc.

Do not hesitate to contact a financial broker to find the capital financing you need. It will save you time and money. Remember that time is money, and when you are comparing, quoting, calling people, and visiting banks you are wasting both time and money. Banks have their selection processes and brokers are more familiar with them than you are. Some financing requests are rejected not because they are not feasible but because they are not well founded or presented.

If you are looking for capital financing for assets or to improve your existing business it is important to contact the right lender.

Wisconsin Trucking Company Lowers Factoring Fees With Simple Switch

August 16, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

What industry is not hurting today? I can not think of one. Because of this many costs are dropping if you know where to look. One place to trim costs is your Business Financing.

Your business may be using Discount Factoring now or perhaps you have a traditional Line of Credit with your bank, it really does not matter as with the reduction in to cost of borrowing your company should be looking into options to reduce your costs and increase the availability of Working Capital.

Absolutely Many companies are locked into an agreement and even with termination fees that may arise; the net result will often be to switch from your current provider to a new Low Cost Factoring facility.

Where to look for the Best Accounts Receivable Factoring Price? The internet. This is the best place to find your next Business Lender.

It can be quite a bit of work however in looking for a new lender. With the applications that will need to be completed and followed up on, many companies prefer to use a Commercial Finance Broker to save them time. And best of all, the broker will not normally cost you anything as they are paid by the lender.

Professional Finance Brokers will know who has the best deals of all the funding sources out there, and who does what type of deal the best. After all, if your company is in the Trucking Industry, a Factoring Company that specializes in Trucking Invoice Factoring would be far better than those that specialize in Construction Invoice Factoring, and vice versa. Simply go to Google and search for AR Factoring Quotes and you will find some very good sources of Commercial Factoring sources.

Your business may not even be using Factoring right now, but it would not be a bad idea to take a look. Many banks are calling their Operating Lines of Credit now forcing companies to look into other options very quickly. Perhaps it is not a bad idea to take a look at your options. After all, Commercial Factoring has taken on a whole new look since President Obama is now heading up a Factoring division in the US Government by buying up all the outstanding Invoices from the auto suppliers to the Auto Manufacturers in the Detroit area. Factoring is now more accepted and accessible than ever.

Choose The Right Commercial Mortgage Broker

August 16, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

You have made the decision to look for financing for a new project but you want to save yourself some time and money and you decide to hire the services of a commercial mortgage broker. There are many providers out there but it is needless to choose more than one. It is recommended to carefully select your commercial mortgage broker in order to get the best services.

The use of internet has made everything accessible and convenient. Online brokerage is no different. Nowadays you do can easily choose the best option and look carefully at what commercial mortgage brokers have to offer. Brokers act as intermediaries, and they generally provide better service to customers.

Giving that there are so many commercial mortgage brokers in the market, it is easy to feel tempted to hire more than one to get better deals. The thing is that this may end up not working in most case. When you hire the services of only one broker you increase the possibilities of negotiation with financial institutions. Remember that brokers have partnerships with some banks but the latter will refuse to pay to more than one.

Because commercial mortgage brokers want to avoid situations like this, they have simulators on their websites. Customers can then enter the information without actually sending the documents to the financial institution. This way, a customer is free to choose the broker that gives the best conditions.

There are a few things you need to keep in mind when choosing a commercial mortgage broker.

The offers it proposes. You want to keep the broker that gives you the rates. You need to verify that there is a reasonable availability of rates and mortgages for you to choose from (fixed or adjustable, floating, etc)

How much filing costs. Commercial mortgage brokers will charge around 1% of the financing amount. These fees are paid to the banks or to the brokers themselves. Some brokers over the internet will not charge for quoting but for the amount of money they bring in profits to the bank.

The terms of payment. Banking institutions generally apply penalties for early prepayment. Penalties can reach up to 3% of capital outstanding. Some commercial mortgage brokers have negotiated with banks no penalties for early payment in whole or in part.

Quality Business Sales Leads Generation, A Global Matter

August 16, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

The Lead Generation Conference 2009, held in Las Vegas, counted 1 400 participants from 650 companies buying or selling leads. Two major trends emerge from this market.

It remains clear that quantity of business sales leads is important. The issue of quality is another major concern. For this, scores were developed to be able to rate the quality.

Matching supply and demand: 60% of the quality grade. Of course, all sellers of leads do not yet have a system for matching.

Potential customers need to feel that the information they are receiving is relevant to them. This was ranked with 20% of importance. Business sales leads companies must develop processes to be able to verify information either on the internet or on the phone.

20% of the relevance of the business sales leads is given by the intention of purchase from the user. Do the leads reliably indicate whether the customer will buy? The leads can only be used after 6 to 12 months after they were collected and reviewed by the marketing departments.

The speed at which the business sales leads are processed is another major concern that raised some discrepancies amongst the participants. While some advocated for a speed measured in days, some thought days later was more appropriated. After some discussion, it was clear that reminding over the phone in a matter of minutes or hours was the best choice.

It is important to make emphasis on the relation between the rate of conversion of business sales leads and the speed of reminders given to the user (30% efficiency of sale for a reminder on the day even with a reminder the next day): a priori there are great benefits to finding ways to accelerate the speed of calling the users back.

Thinking positively, generation of business sales leads is a method to improve sales. It creates business because it links people who want to buy with people that want to sell. In times of crisis, business sales leads open a door to opportunities.

Commercial Property Mortgages: There Are Funding Sources Out There.

August 16, 2009 in Business by Wade Henderson

Have you ever considered buying a Commercial Property? A savvy business owner in Illinois USA has been considering it for quite a while until one day when the opportunity presented itself. Problem was, she was turned down at her bank.

There were a couple of predominant reasons why the bank did not want to lend with her. First was a drop in sales over the last couple of years and the second was that her credit report showed a few 30 day late payments to department stores. Because of this, she did not fit the criteria the bank was looking for,

I want to make it clear, her credit was not bad, but there were 3 – 30 day lates on the credit. And we are not talking about big dollar amounts either, we are just talking about $30 minimum payments here.

The owner of the Boutique shopped around at a few local banks and the result was the same.

Nearly at the point of giving up, she decided to go to the internet to see what she could find. Fortunately an opportunity presented itself in the form of a Professional Commercial Mortgage Broker. She had never even known they existed prior to her search. Commercial Finance Brokers have plenty of different Commercial Finance options from various funders.

Whether or not you get approved for your Commercial Mortgage at the bank, do yourself a favor check in with a Commercial Mortgage Broker. They will have options that your bank will never have. Some options are not better than the bank may have, but some options are. Check your options.

The recession we are in has cleansed the market of several Commercial Brokers and Commercial Lenders. The ones that are left standing are dedicated to the industry. .

Now, with the reduction of rates and all the stimulus packages out there, the time to look into buying that Investment Property is here. Prices are down; interest rates are down and even if you can not get the bank to give you a loan to take advantage of the current market, there are lenders out there that will help you.
